The Best Cell Phone Carriers to Switch to Now

Did you know 1 out of 3 people over pay for their cell phone service?

When it comes to cell phones, there are the big guys and the little men, the majors and the minor leagues. Often times, customers end up paying double, if not more, for cell phone plans from the bigger guys, when they can get the same phones and comparable service for hundreds less each month.

What Carriers Have Some of The Best Deals?

MetroPCS: While it does score low in many surveys for customer service, MetroPCS rivals the major carriers when it comes to data speeds, even beating the big guys in some major cities. Data plans start at as little as $30 for 1GB and run up to $60 for an unlimited plan. Other features give their plans a lot of flexibility, but you don’t have a lot of phones to choose from. Consider them utilitarian, but not fashionable. That works for some, but not all people.

Verizon: Verizon is one of the big guys. With reliable service and a plethora of phone options, they are bound to have whatever you need. Plus, right now, they offer the lowest price on data usage of all US cell phone carriers.

Boost Mobile: A lot of people don’t realize that Boost uses the network of its parent company, Sprint, which can be both good and bad. It allowed them to switch to unlimited data plans not too long ago although there are limits on certain types of streaming. The company has a pretty robust variety of phones, easily the best among its competing discount prepaid carriers. And it has $50 monthly unlimited data deals right now.

PureTalk USA: This a true old-school minutes package program aimed at people who almost never use a cell phone. Texts costs three-per-minute and the entire set-up runs on the AT&T network, so reliability is above average. They do have unlimited talk and text plans that start at a mere $24.

How Do You Find These Deals?

Each area offers different cell phone plans, so it’s always beneficial to do a little research.  Learn what others in your city are paying for their cell phone plans and know exactly how low providers will go on a price and demand that deal.

Like anything, it’s always a good idea to be aware of the latest research. We recommend comparing at least 3 or 4 options before making a final decision. Doing a search online is typically the quickest, most thorough way to discover all the pros and cons you need to keep in mind.
