The Best Deals On Volvo SUVs

It’s no surprise that drivers turn to Volvo when they’re looking for style, comfort, and safety. After all, the Sweden-based company’s quality control has been consistently high for decades.

If you’re in the market for a luxury SUV and considering a Volvo, you recognize that the best “deal” isn’t the same as the best value. Quality comes at a price, so let’s take a look at some of the best deals on Volvo SUVs.

Check Out the 2023 Volvo XC90

Starting price: $56,000

This year’s XC90 offers the same sleek and stylish mild hybrid SUV you’ve come to expect from Volvo – but with some upgraded connectivity. Armed with Google apps such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play, the XC90 offers top of the line navigation, two-way conversation artificial intelligence, and entertainment possibilities.

This roomy SUV accommodates up to 7 people, offering spacious head room and leg room. For added versatility, each of the individual, ergonomically designed seats can fold into the cargo area floor to maximize the 85.7 cubic feet of cargo capacity. 1

Knowing that drivers have different needs for their SUV, Volvo offers the XC90 in three different equipment levels. While the Core package contains all of the Google connectivity and Pilot Assist, the Plus and Ultimate packages feature upgraded illumination, stereo speakers, and ventilation technology.

Starting price: $36,350

If you want the same modern design and high-end tech of the XC90, but in a compact SUV, the XC40 is waiting! Offering the same panoramic roof views and Google connectivity as the luxury midsize option, this year’s compact features 5 ergonomically designed seats that fold down for 57.5 cubic feet of cargo space. 2

Speaking of space, the XC40 has gone above and beyond to find clever storage solutions. While the cabin has hooks and compartments for water bottles and cell phones, the floor of the rear loading area can be reconfigured into a cargo divider or a shopping bag holder.

This hybrid SUV features the exact same infotainment and driver displays as the XC90, with a 12-inch instrument panel and a 9-inch center display. Volvo also offers this model in three unique equipment levels, with the upgraded packages offering keyless entry, park assist, and a 360 degree camera.

Electric SUVs

If you’re looking for a fully electric option, get ready to plug in! Both the XC90 and the XC40 are available in Recharge editions. Leave the gas pumps behind with these environmentally friendly yet powerful rides, which retail from $53,550 to $71,900. 3

These prices are rather eye-popping for an article discussing the best SUV deals. However, we include these electric vehicle options not only for those concerned about our climate.

Yes, the sticker price on electric cars tends to be about $10,000 more than gas vehicles 4, but the cost of plugging in – rather than gassing up – can lead to huge savings. A report in 2020 showed that drivers of electric cars spent about 60% less each year than drivers with gas-powered vehicles. 5

Volvo SUV Deals

While the 2023 SUVs are available now, the 2022 models of the XC90 and the XC40 boast much of the same design and technology specs, but for cheaper prices.

The starting price on the 2022 XC90 is $50,900, which is significantly lower than the class average MSRP. 6 This price could be a byproduct of reduced sales of the XC90, as the luxury midsize model slipped out of the top five sellers in its SUV category. Likewise, last year’s XC40 costs slightly less than the class average, but is holding steady with a starting price of $35,100. 7

Be aware that inventory shortages related to the COVID-19 pandemic are still lingering, so finding a new XC90 or XC40 for a cheap price might require some research.

2023 Volvo SUV Leasing Options

Leasing a Volvo XC90 starts at $755 per month, while a XC40 comes in at $539 per month. 8 As expected, most dealerships are trying to showcase their 2022 models to make room for the incoming 2023 SUVs.

Be patient and call around. By the time you’re ready to make a purchase, you’ll be in line for an ideal lease on the Volvo of your dreams!

Take The Next Step

As always, Volvo’s chief concerns are safety, comfort, and luxury – and their current crop of SUVs more than adequately meets this criteria.

Whether you have your eyes on the newest line of SUVs, or an older model with rave reviews, reading online articles can only take you so far. The next step is contacting your local dealership and taking one for a spin!
